Cora Macabagdal Oriel

Cora Oriel has over two decades of experience in the Filipino-American media and advertising industry. She began her career as an account executive for a Los Angeles based Filipino publishing company and eventually moved up the ranks as its Vice-President for Sales and Marketing.

In 1991, Cora started with her husband, Roger, the Asian Journal Publications, Inc (AJPI). From humble beginnings, the company has grown to become one of the leading Filipino-owned newspaper publishing firms in North America with over 40 employees in the states of California and Nevada. AJPI publishes the Los Angeles Asian Journal, the first and only twice a week Filipino-American newspaper in North America, the Las Vegas Asian Journal, the first weekly Filipino-American newspaper in Las Vegas, Nevada and the weekly Northern CA Asian Journal. The company's corporate office is located in Downtown Los Angeles, with bureaus in Las Vegas and South San Francisco.

She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree, major in Communication Arts from Saint Paul College of Manila in 1984. She is proudest of her role as Mommy to three wonderful girls - Christina, Carina and Catherine.
